‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Movie Cast: Christian Grey Won’t Be Played By Director Husband Aaron Taylor-Johnson, But He Hints At Who Might Be Eyeing The Role

Since an open casting call for "Fifty Shades of Grey" was posted by Universal Pictures for the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, the excitement about who will play the characters has heightened. Director Sam Taylor-Johnson's husband Aaron Taylor-Johnson gave some clues as to who will not be and who would like to be in the "Fifty Shades" movie adaption.

Taylor-Johnson told MTV News that, despite the rumors, he won't be starring as the male lead Christian Grey in his wife's film.

"I think Sam is an incredible director, and I'd love to work with her again," he said. "But the film is all about casting and I'm anything but Christian Grey. I'm super-excited and thrilled for her. I think even the prospect of her doing it is really great for [the studio]. She adds an element of class to it."

But Taylor-Johnson didn't stop there. He teased that he knew one person who would be interested in the role: his "Kick-Ass 2" co-star Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Let's just say Christopher isn't someone fans would expect to play Christian.

Meanwhile, Taylor-Johnson, the star of the first "Kick-Ass" film, was reportedly in talks with the producers and director of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" about the role of Quicksilver, which will be a new character to the franchise and is the twin of another new character, Scarlet Witch.

Taylor-Johnson talked to TotalFilm.com about the role of Quicksilver: "That's what we're in talks about really, right now - how I could become that character and not feel forced. I might not look right with white hair, and the accent may be wrong... it just doesn't work like that. Unless you're Jim Carrey or Nicolas Cage and go 'This is the character', people go 'OK, OK...' When people haven't been shown your range like that, then they're a bit more skeptical - they may not want you to push the boundaries in that way. But that's what I'm interested in as an actor."

"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" comes to theaters May 1st, 2015 and stars Chris Hemsworth,Jeremy Renner, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Mark Ruffalo. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.
