Apple New iPhone: Unveiling Set For September 10; Arriving With Fingerprint-Recognition Technology

The latest rumor in the iOS sphere suggests a September 10 grand reveal of Apple new iPhone.

According to Reuters, the Cupertino-based technology giant is expected to unveil Apple's new iPhone on September. This recent Apple new iPhone report originated from All Things D, a technology blog affiliated with Wall Street Journal.

Citing unnamed sources, the blog post stated that Apple will hold a special event on September 10 for the unveiling of its new iPhone.

Since fall is coming, meaning a number of new smartphones such as Apple products like the new iPhone, are already on their way for unveiling and market release in time for the holiday season.

Rumor has it that Apple will be launching its new iPhone, specifically the successor of its soon-to-be one-year-old iPhone 5. The upcoming smartphone is currently dubbed as iPhone 5S, which is expected to arrive with faster processor, better camera, longer battery life and the highly talked-about fingerprint recognition technology as an additional security measure.

According to MSN, the rumors about Apple new iPhone or the iPhone 5S having a fingerprint scanner started when Apple bought a biometric security firm, the AuthenTec on 2012.

Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI securities, who has been a consistent source for Apple news stated, "We expect [that the] iPhone 5S will have a fingerprint chip under the Home button."

If this rumor about the fingerprint scanner technology is true, then, Apple new iPhone or the iPhone 5S would be the first to use biometrics as security measure. It can be noted that other smartphone companies have tried experimenting with voice and face recognition technology such as the 'Face unlock' feature brought by Samsung's Galaxy series. However, the feature can be treacherous as it can fool by easily using a picture of a person.

Apple new iPhone will run the yet-to-be released iOS 7, also expected to debut on September.
