Breaking Bad Season 5 'Blood Money' Draws Highest Audience Ever! Vince Gilligan Dedicated The Latest Episode to Kevin Cordasco

The return of the award-winning Breaking Bad Season 5 series reached new heights after grabbing the highest audience record in its entire period. The first of the last eight episodes of the series returned last Sunday night with the tagline "Remember My Name".

After its premiere, the "Blood Money" episode pulled a total of 5.9 million total viewers, according to Nielsen. This is more than 100% increase over the series' last season premiere. The show started with a humble rating of 1.41 million viewers only in January 2008.

Even before its airing date, the return of Breaking Bad Season 5 has been hitting the Twitter world. By the time it was airing, the show generated about 760,000 tweets.

Unfortunately, Kevin Cordasco is not one of the 5.9 million viewers lucky enough to watch the show. The late Cordasco, who died this March due to neuroblastoma, has been a loyal follower of the series.

The teen from Calabasas was close to the crew and cast of the show. Cardasco even had the chance to hang out with the show's cast members. He was not fortunate enough to witness the series' comeback.

Breaking Bad's "Blood Money" episode was followed by the words "Dedicated to our friend Kevin Cordasco."

According to the show's co-executive producer, Melissa Bernstein, it was Vince Gilligan, the series' creator, who decided to dedicate the episode to the young teen. Gilligan was said to be "devastated" after hearing that Cordasco passed away.

Kevin Cordasco is a junior student at the Calabasa High School. He died last March 11, 2013 after battling cancer in 7 years. The teen has been following the "Breaking Bad" series since it started in 2008.
