Bill Nye "The Science Guy" Joining Dancing With The Stars Season 17 Cast! "It's All Physics," Bill Explains

Bill Nye 'The Science Guy' will be on Season 17 of Dancing With the Stars!

Bill Nye 'The Science Guy', the beloved PBS TV star and mechanical engineer, will be joining the cast of DWTS, and he's already practicing.

Nye, 57, says that after all....dancing is physics.

Nye said, "I'm feeling great"... he has some advanced practice!

"It's all physics; it's all the study of motion," Nye said as the cast was announced.

Other "Dancing With The Stars" cast members include Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Elizabeth Berkley, Corbin Bleu, Jack Osbourne and Leah Remini.

I'll be shakin' it on #DWTS this season with the wonderful @TyneStecklein," Nye tweeted shortly after the pairing. "I can already feel the burn..."

Bill Nye and his coach Tyne Stecklein talked about joining the show.

"I do like dancing," Nye said about joining the reality series. "We're in this to win this. I mean, I went to a pretty tough engineering school and then I worked in children's television with Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers. I played in that league."

Nye added, "I'm in this to do my very best. To get the mirror ball trophy."

Tyne Stecklein, Nye's partner, will be anew dancer on the hit ABC series.

However, Nye and Steckein are already hitting it off.

"He's a great student. He's very smart, obviously, which helps," Stecklein told Us. "He picks things up really quickly and he gets it and he enjoys it. And he works really hard."

Season 17 of Dancing With the Stars will premiere Monday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
