Windows 8 Laptop Tablet: Lenovo Unveils Yoga 2 Pro, Auto-Flattening Keyboard In Tablet Mode, Up To 9 Hours Battery

A year ago, Lenovo surprised us with arguably one of the best 'hybrid' laptop tablets in recent years. The Yoga was a heck of a laptop, featuring the ability to transform into any possible way you want your laptop to look like. Back then, we were already raving for this beast.

But Lenovo has further improved it when it announced the Yoga 2 Pro.

Like the previous Yoga, this ultrabook also has the ability to transform in a number of ways, including a tablet mode where the keyboard flattens itself during the 'transformation'. This makes your keyboard the back part of the tablet, minus the keys.

You can also transform the Yoga 2 Pro into a tablet with a stand, using the same keyboard.

As you can see, this next generation Yoga features most of the exciting abilities its predecessor has, but it brings in a few notable game-changers on the table.

First of is the amped up screen resolution, 3200x1800 from last year's 1600x900, which results in 276 pixels per inch (ppi). Other notable improvements are the reduced weight, 1.39kg, thinner size, 15.5mm thick, and a fourth-gen Intel Core i7 Haswell processor.

Another improvement to the original is the prolonged battery life, which Lenovo said will last for about 9 hours.

The Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro will hit the stores sometime in November just before Christmas season begins.
