Top Android Phones 2013: Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z1, LG G2, HTC One, Who Wins The Battle For Smartphone Supremacy

This year's IFA event in Berlin is definitely one of the most successful as we see various high-end designs making its way in the market. We also get to reflect how much technology has changed, and how far it will go in the next couple of years.

In the smartphone category, Sony unveiled its Xperia Z1, otherwise known as Honami, and it totally captured the spotlight during the event.

Yes, the Galaxy Note 3 may be a great upgrade from the Note 2 by Samsung, but nothing can change the fact that it was clearly upstaged by the Z1's 'splash'. Now, as we compare it to three other high-end devices, we will see which smartphone is currently the best in the market.

Samsung Galaxy S4

The S4 is one of those expected phones which did not seem to hit the mark for Samsung, and as a result, they will be holding a special conference just to convince analysts and investors that it is still relevant in the market. However, the S4's reduced sales does not mean it has less features compared to other smartphones in this lineup. Aside from the plastic feel of its casing, under is hood is undeniably one of the vicious smartphone beasts around.

HTC One

Combine a great device with poor marketing and you end up like the HTC One. More or less crowned as the top Android smartphone since it was announced in February, it only made its way in the market's entirety in June, which is considerably too late to catch up in the competition. Though, we still think its premium feel, Sense 5.0, and audio quality is among the top in the industry today.

LG G2

Teased for weeks, this droid has finally been announced last week, and starting today it will be available for pre-order in major carriers across the country. While it packs several respectable features which could blow any smartphone in this list away, the absence of a microSD card is one thing that might keep some customers from buying it.

Sony Xperia Z1

Fresh from the IFA event, the Xperia Z1 is a killer smartphone with great specifications and overall look. Its 20.1MP camera and impressive display will surely make Android fans drool with excitement. However, there's just something with Sony that may or may not cause customers to be tentative in buying. Overall, the Honami is one of the best phones today that will surely give buyers a run for their money.

Now that we have covered a few details about each device, let us now rank them. Fourth place goes to LG G2, then followed by HTC One. Samsung Galaxy S4 manages to edge Sony's Xperia Z1 by just a hairline for the top spot, though some sites may choose the Japanese manufacturer. Several phones will still make its way to the market before the end of the year, so we better watch out.
