Android Tips And Tricks: Getting The Most Out Of Your Battery Juice

If you lived in the era when phones lasted for more than 2 days on a single charge, you will definitely agree that battery life is one of the most important features of a mobile phone. During that time, there was really nothing that used up much battery aside from messaging and phone calls.

Fast forward to 2013, and you'll see smartphones which do not even last 24 hours a day on a single charge. If you have an Android device that has a screen of more than 5 inches, you bettter expect the display to eat up most of the phone's battery life.

Fortunately, there are always ways to improve it.

The 'Turn It Off' Method

This is one of the simplest and most effective ways to conserve battery life. In case you are in the middle of a particular scenario where you're not using your phone, plus you're not expecting any important calls or messages, turning it off is a good idea. In addition, there are certain settings which you can turn off to conserve battery juice. Turning off Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth, and even LTE can help you save precious minutes or even hours of battery life.

Disabling Auto-Updating Features

Another battery-sucking feature of any smartphone today is auto push notifications from different accounts, social media, and other subscriptions. Because these apps periodically scans for new notifications, it will eat up your battery faster than you expect. You can always update them manually instead, which means they will only update once you ask them to.

Third Party Apps

There are a number of battery saving applications found on Play Store which you can try for your Android phone. There are literally hundreds of them, you just have to pick the best option which works for your phone. However, in some instances, you may need an additional feature in order to enjoy the full benefits of the application.

Rooting

This is what I'm talking about. There are certainly a lot of benefits for rooting, such as administrative permissions for your phone. In fact, some applications can allow you to change the amount of voltage your phone uses, which further improves battery life. Just make sure you read the instructions carefully and avoid 'udnervolting' too much.
