107-Year-Old Man Killed In Standoff By SWAT Team In Arkansas: Allegedly Threatened Two Patrons Then Shot At Officers

107-year-old man killed in standoff by a SWAT team in Arkansas Saturday afternoon after shots were allegedly fired at the direction of police officers.

The 107-year-old man killed in the standoff was Monroe Isadore, though there was a complaint at West 16th Street in Pine Bluff.

When police arrived, they were able to negotiate to get the two people that the 107-year-old man allegedly threatened with a gun. The officers went inside announced who they were before they killed him in a standoff. That is when Isadore shot through the door at them but missed hitting them, said Pine Bluff Lt. David Price in a news release.

The officers retreated to a safer area, and supervisors and additional help were called, Price said. Supervisors started negotiating with Isadore and continued after SWAT officers arrived at the home about 45 miles southeast of Little Rock, according to the Washington Post.

SWAT officers released gas into the room from outside a bedroom window, Price said after they were able to get a camera into the room to prove that Isadore had a gun in his possession.

When they realized he wasn't going to budge, they distracted Isadore with some sort of device. Then, Isadore allegedly fired shots at the SWAT officers and they fired back. They killed him without anybody else being injured.
