Sir Patrick Stewart Marries Sir Ian McKellen Officiates; His Bride Jazz Singer Sunny Ozell, 38 Years His Junior

The 73 year-old actor, Sir Patrick Stewart  told the world about his marriage thru Twitter using a photo of the couple in a ball pool with a caption "Yes, married."

 

Sir Patrick Stewart, 73, married Sunny Ozell, 35, in a ceremony officiated by Sir Ian McKellen.

 

Sir Patrick and Sunny Ozell were together for half a decade. The two met during Macbeth's production in Brooklyn, New York. Sir Patrick Stewart was casted the lead role in that play.  Back in March Sir Ian McKellen disclosed to Jonathan Ross, UK Chat Show host, his role during the nuptials. Sir Ian McKellen simply stated during at interview, "I am going to marry Patrick," to which he then followed through with, "How else do you put that? I am going to officiate at his wedding."

 

Sir Ian McKellen has won over six Olivier awards, and mentioned that the wedding would be "in the middle of America, somewhere." In such places a "one day marriage designation" which permits an individual to officiate over a wedding.  Sir Ian further recalls, "I've done it once with two guys having a civil partnership," in the United Kingdom. "I was crying my eyes out," McKellen added.

 

After Sir Patrick's wedding, Sir ian McKellen posted a photo via Facebook.  The photo bears the latter wearing a black shirt aptly labeled "Minister" and holding a "Doctor of Divinity" certificate.  After the tweet by Sir Patrick's Sir Ian then followed suit by simply tweeting "I played my part," with a link to Sir Patrick's announcement.

 

Both actors Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen have been famous for their long-standing friendship through-out the years and even played opposites in one of X-Men's films and also during the staging of "Waiting for Godot and Harold Pinter's No Man's Land, both by produced by Samuel Beckett.

 

Prior his marriage to Jazz Singer Ozell, 35, Sir Patrick Steward was married first to Sheila Falconer back in 1966 and Wendy Neuss back in 2000. The ballpool photograph announcement was a result of a candid photo of Sir Patrick that went viral last 2012.
