FIFA 14 Release Date: Available Earlier In The U.K.? GAME Retailer Announces Plans For Midnight Launches On September 27

United Kingdom retailer GAME has announced plans to open 300 of its stores at midnight on September 27 for the launch of FIFA 14, leaving gamers wondering if retailers in the United States will take similar measures.

The UK retailer will also host lock-in events at 50 of its stores between September 8 and September 22, DigitalSpy.com reports.

Lock-in events, which will operate on a first come-first served basis, will offer gamers the chance to go hands-on with FIFA 14 ahead of launch, DigitalSpy.com also reports.

EA Sports has released a television commercial for FIFA '14, headlining Drake throughout the trailer and showing him playing the highly-anticipated game.

The developer also released a list of the Top 50 players in FIFA '14 and has ranked Messi and Ronaldo in first and second place respectively.

The developer's ranking caused controversy when they ranked Gareth Bale, the world's highest paid soccer player, at No. 17 with a rating of 87.

But player rankings aren't the only thing gamers are buzzing about.

Microsoft has announced that it will be releasing its Xbox One on November 22, prompting the same launch day for FIFA '14 on the next-generation console.

The Day One Edition of Xbox One already comes with a digital copy of FIFA 14, a commemorative controller, wired headset, wireless controller and HDMI cable, EuroGamer reports.
