Skype For Windows 8: Pre-release Skype Version for Windows 8.1 Claims 'You'll Never Miss A Message'

With the highly-anticipated Windows 8.1 update, it is just fitting that Microsoft also develops an optimized version of online messaging application software Skype, and surely they did not disappoint.

Today, Microsoft launched a pre-released version of Skype that is specially designed to complement the upgraded Windows 8 version that will showcase a new interface, and the highly-missed Start button. But what does the new Skype application has in store for users?

Last time we checked, this is the first fully optimized version of Skype for Windows, and it offers a lot features. That is why Microsoft was proud when it stated that the new and improved applicationwill make sure that "you'll never miss a message". Aside from the usual instant messaging and video calling options, the new version will now also allow you to check any notifications from your device's lockscreen.

In addition, you do not only get the chance to check notifications right away, but also allows you to choose from a variety of actions - video call, audio call, decline, or send an IM.

Moreover, Skype for Windows 8.1 can now allow you to call anyone straight from Internet Explorer. Microsoft has also done a good job in putting multi-taskers in mind. Now, Skype automatically moves to the side whenever you click a link, or share a file.

There is also an auto-resize option from the Skype window which makes it easier to adjust the window you are currently viewing.

Unfortunately, all these features will not be available just yet. We are thinking that Skype will be preloaded in the upcoming upgrade towards Windows 8.1.

Bravo, Microsoft, bravo!
