Busker Busker Confirms Sept. 25 Comeback - Can They Be A Success In The Wake Of Scandal?

Korean indie band and Superstar K3 runners-up Busker Busker are ready for another round of promotions this fall.

The three member group announced on Wednesday morning that they will be officially releasing their second studio album on September 25.

Busker Busker's agency confirmed the news through their official Twitter account.

They wrote, "Hello. It's Chung Chun Music. We are sharing the news of Busker Busker's 2nd full-length album. Busker Busker's 2nd full-length album will be released online and offline on September 25. Busker Busker's 2nd story begins on one autumn night. We ask for your love and support."

Shortly after dropping the new album, the band will embark on a domestic tour hitting Busan, Daegu and Seoul.

Expectations are high for the group's second album, especially after their first, Busker Busker 1st Album, sold over 50,000 copies in only three weeks.

The hit single "Cherry Blossom Ending" in particular became hugely popular, and rose to number one on the charts for a second time a year after its release. It was later dubbed the 'song of spring 2013.'

Fans and antis alike are curious how well the group's new album will fare in light of the recent controversy surrounding Busker Busker member Kim Hyung Tae.

Last month the singer found himself in the middle of a scandal after using some offensive slang terms online and on Twitter. The words in question are generally associated with the Ilbe community, a particularly nasty group of Korean netizens who like to stir up trouble for those they deem inferior.

Even though Kim Hyung Tae publicly apologized, other celebs who have been faced with similar controversies have had a hard time recovering from the mishaps.

For example, although they are now getting more recognition abroad, girl group Crayon Pop still have not been wholly welcomed back into the K-Pop scene in the wake of their own Ilbe scandal.

Will Busker Busker and their musical talents be able to rise above controversy and see the same kind of success they have had in the past?
