G-Dragon Could Break Sales Records With 'Coup D'etat': Missy Elliott Tapped For L.A. KCON Convention

Now that G-Dragon is preparing for his "Coup D'etat" physical album release, the K-Pop prince is expected to break sales records as a solo artist, and catapult Missy Elliott's long awaited comeback on the music scene.

Despite having already released "Coup D'etat" digitally, AllKPop reports that a massive 300,000 preorders have been confirmed for the album in advance of the album release.

With the album dropping September 13, YG Entertainment believes that G-Dragon will break records as a male solo artist.

And one reason for G-Dragon's massive success this time around could be attributed to his international collaborators, which include Diplo and Missy Elliott.

After a long battle with a hyperthyroid disorder known as Graves' disease, Missy Elliott is slowly making her comeback, only this time it is with some help from the K-Pop scene, thanks to her collaboration record with G-Dragon.

"First off, I made my version first without thinking about Missy Elliott. The track itself was created last year," G-Dragon explained, according to the publication eNEWS.

"Because it's a track that has the motive of using a Korean folk song, I wasn't looking for a popular artist of today but more of the past, and a female more than a male. In the middle of all that, because I was Missy Elliott's fan, I hesitantly asked if she could work with me."

And now, LA Times confirms that Missy Elliott will perform alongside a slew of K-Pop acts at the KCON 2013, a K-Pop convention at Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena.

Currently, it is still unknown if Missy Elliott will focus on records from her highly anticipated 7th album, "Block Party," or her collaboration with G-Dragon.
