Moto X Release Date For Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile; Will Price Lower To $100 By End Of The Year? Wood Back Plate Available For Holiday Season

Motorola announced Tuesday that the Moto X can be ordered across most U.S. carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular. We will break down the different features based on these carriers, and the Moto X prices, which are rumored to drop by the end of the year.

Exclusively for AT&T customers, the Moto X can be custom designed on the Moto Maker website, allowing AT&T customers to choose the colors of their Motorola phone, IB Times reports.

For all other carriers, Motorola and parent company Google Inc. provide the Moto X available in "woven" black and white following the release date.

Verizon will offer Moto Maker customization "later this year."

The Moto X will cost $599 without a contract. It will sell at a price of $199 on its release, with a contract from Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

However, Motorola has said the Moto X won't be available in T-Mobile stores at launch, Design & Trend reports.

Also, according to reports, all carriers of the Moto X, including Verizon and AT&T, will drop the price of the Motorola Moto X to $100 by the end the year, Design & Trend reports. Motorola has yet to confirm the report, and the exact date of the price drop is unknown.

U.S. Cellular offers the Moto X at the reduced price of $124.99 after a new customer 2-year contract discount.

T-Mobile customers who wish to order the Moto X in woven white will have to wait, as Motorola says the color option isn't currently available, IB Times reports.

The Twitter user evleaks, a reliable source of leaked mobile phone photos and information, according to IB Times, said the customizable wood backplates for the Moto X will arrive in time for the holiday season and will add $50 to the cost of the device. The wood backplates will include ebony, bamboo, rosewood and teak.

Motorola announced Moto X's availability across carriers on the same day that Apple unveiled its newest iPhones, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S, in Cupertino, California.
