iPhone 5S Release Date: 3 Reasons Why iPhone 5C Will Increase Sales Of New Flagship

After months of waiting, we have finally seen Apple's new smartphones, the flagship iPhone 5S, and the (supposedly) cheaper iPhone 5C. For the past several weeks, analysts have been pointing out a number of scenarios, including the fact that the 5C can finally bring Apple the market share it desperately wants from China.

However, another interesting point made a few weeks ago said that the iPhone 5C can potentially replace the iPhone 5, and on Tuesday's event, it did.

Now we have compiled several potential reasons why the 5C was developed in the first place.

1. Replace iPhone 5

As I mentioned earlier, Apple announced that it will no longer continue producing iPhone 5 phones to give way to the 5C. This may sound pretty understandable from a distance, but when you look at the details it is a horribly greedy move for the Cupertino company.

2. Point first-time buyers and upgraders to the iPhone 5S

If you have just come from the iPhone 4 or 4S, and you plan to get a new iPhone this year. Which one would you pick - the plastic coated iPhone 5C, or the premium and aluminum cladd iPhone 5S? As I also mentioned earlier, it turned out that the cheaper iPhone is not cheap at all, and it also replaced the last generation model, which would have been the best option for consumers who want an upgrade but cannot afford the 5S.

3. Compete in the midrange level in emerging markets

This is perhaps the most popular reason people think the 5C was developed. Unfortunately, this is just a minor role the smartphone will play in the market in the months to come.

Apple is forcing its consumers to shell out more cash on an iPhone when it released the 5C, and because the last generation iPhone is already discontinued, they would be left to choose from a plastic and cheap-looking model and a premium iPhone with a fingerprint sensor.
