Anticipation Builds for YG-JYP Battle on 'WIN'

Mnet's "WIN" will showcase a battle between the best trainees of YG Entertainment and JYP Entertainment.

It's a showdown that is also a battle of pride between the two companies. The trainees that take part in this battle are usually the next generation of stars from both companies.

It will be especially interesting to see how former TV audition program stars have progressed. Superstar K's Kang Seung Yoon and Kpop Star's Lee Seung Hoon, Koo Joon Hweh, and Park Jae Hyung are all already well known due to their appearances in their respective programs.

YG Entertainment's CEO Yang Hyun Suk recently took his 11 trainees to the JYP Entertainment facility to square off with Park Jin Young's best trainees. Rain, Big Bang, and 2PM were all former participants of this battle, so it is not an overstatement to say that this is a meeting of future international superstars.

Yang Hyun Suk and Park Jin Young will each critique the other company's trainees. The producers of "WIN" stated that their friendship didn't get in the way of the fierce competition.

This coming episode will be an emotional rollercoaster. Yang Hyun Suk stated that he will not reveal the participants until the moment of the battle in last week's episode, which left the trainees to guess who will be the participants until the last moment. Team A and Team B suffer through not only the uncertainty but also the high-level talent of JYP's best trainees.

The producers of "WIN" have also stated that this event became a moment of bonding between Team A and Team B. They entered the competition with each of their best performances, and also prepared a 11-man Team A+B performance. They added, "Although they are in competition as two teams, they were fellow trainees for a long time, and you will be able to witness their synergy and teamwork in this episode."

The most worrisome character is Kang Seung Yoon, who has had a traumatic experience with Park Jin Young in Superstar K. Park Jin Young relentlessly attacked Kang Seung Yoon's vocal skills. Whether or not Kang Seung Yoon will be able to overcome his trauma of Park Jin Young is one of the key points of this coming episode of "WIN."
