Batman Vs Superman: Justin Bieber ‘Robin’ A Hoax; Affleck To Portray ‘Tired And Weary’ Caped Crusader

An Instagram Photo circulated with Justin Bieber showing what looked like a script for "Batman vs Superman." However, it was proven to be a hoax. Also, Ben Affleck will portray Batman who has a "been there, done that" disposition.

"Batman Vs Superman," the working title for the Man of Steel sequel which will feature the two heroes, has been swirling with all sorts of casting rumors and speculation. Singer Justin Bieber would also join the ride. A photo with him showing what seems to be a copy of a script titled "Batman vs Superman" had fans in a frenzy.

However, Bieber earlier tweeted that he was off to do something "Funny...or die." It was deemed a connection to the popular website. Thus, the photo is probably part of a prank.

For serious Batman news, with a more somber tone, Ben Affleck will play an aged Batman. Not just physically, as opposed to the seemingly immortal Man of Steel character, but as a hero who has been fighting crime for the longest time.

Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara has stated that the Ben Affleck version of Batman is "tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for awhile."

The Studio head has noted the "passionate" responses from the netizens about the casting of Affleck. He also said that the studio "could not be happier" about the performance of "Man of Steel," which has grossed $660 million in worldwide box office and set the wheels of the sequel in motion.

He reiterates: "We think it's the perfect springboard for Batman and Superman. Ben is perfect for the vision Zack has for that character. The fact that you saw such a passionate response in the blogosphere is really kind of a testament to the love that people have for this character."

The Man of Steel Sequel, whichever title it may end up with, will open on July 2015.
