Is Ylvis' 'The Fox' The New 'Gangnam Style?' Music Video Goes Viral, Enters Top 30 In Billboard Chart

Psy may have secured his place in viral history with "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman," but a new music video by Ylvis titled "The Fox" may be the next viral sensation.

Ylvis is a variety show duo from Norway consisting of brothers Bård Urheim Ylvisåker and Vegard Urheim Ylvisåker, which debuted in 2000.

"The Fox" is produced by Norwegian producers Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Storleer Eriksen (aka Stargate). Given their collaboration history with Rihanna, Beyonce, and Ne-Yo, the success of "The Fox" may not be much of a surprise.

"The Fox" is a music video released to promote their TV talk show, "I kveld med Ylvis" ("Tonight With Ylvis"). After uploading September 3, the video has garnered nearly 40 million views and has been even caught the attention of Ellen Degeneres.

"It is the most amazing video I've seen in a long time. The song does not leave my head," raves Ellen Degeneres on a recent episode of her talk show.

"I don't know a lot about Norway, but I'm going to assume marijuana is legal there."

After catching Ellen's eye, Ylvis will make an appearance on "The Ellen Degeneres Show," making it their first appearance on American television.

In addition, "The Fox" has even entered the Billboard charts at number 29. Thanks to the new amended rules that incorporate YouTube views, the song has become the third most streamed song behind "Harlem Shake" by Baauer, Psy's "Gentleman," and One Direction's "Best Song Ever."

So, will Ylvis and "The Fox" become their "Gangnam Style?"
