Women Enjoy Entertainment Featuring Men, Too! Especially Chuseok Specials

Ever since reality TV shows became the trend in entertainment, there has been an increase in entertainment shows featured around men. Female fans especially enjoy watching these shows that are centered around men. The shows featuring male idols experiencing military enlistment and father-son trips gathered all the lady viewers. Based on the popularity of these 2 shows, there will be several more pilot episodes of men-centered shows to air this holiday season. How many shows will stick?

KBS released 4 men entertainment programs.

On September 18, "Sea I Wanted" aired its pilot episode. "Sea I Wanted" is a reality television show that takes place at the sea. Six men ride a yacht, and have to deal with the real life situations that arise. Actor Shin Hyun Joon, Lee Hoon, Jung Kyu Woon, comedian Nam Hee Suk, Jung Hyung Don, and INFINITE's Sunggyu are cast in the show. According to Nielson Korea, this broadcast recorded a viewership rating of 4.3%.

Another show aired its pilot episode on September 18. "Star Babysitter Come See Me" is about men who take care of someone else's child. Singer Jo Young Nam, Jung Joon young, and comedian Kim Gook Jin were cast in this reality program. The first episode was said to be very new, fun and moving. It recorded a viewership rating of 5.2%, the highest of al pilot episodes that were aired that day.

When we talk about shows about men, we can't forget the ones where they get down and dirty. On September 18, KBS 2TV had a show called "Real Sports Fighting Spirit" where men had a chicken fight. (A chicken fight is when each person has to hold one leg, hop on the other, and try to knock the other person over. This is not a cockfight! No animals were harmed in this show.) One celebrity would go up against a non-celebrity person, and the battles were done tournament-style. This survival program featured Kim Bo Sung, Kim Chang Ryul, Ji Sang Ryul, Lee Jung, Kim Dong Joon, Yoon Hyung Bin, Choi Hong Man, and Yoo Sang Chul. Kim Goo Ra and Son Bum Soo hosted the show.

On the same day, another show called "Superman Returns" aired. It's a reality show about fathers who neglect their children because they are so busy with work, who (hopefully) eventually realize their mistakes and are restored to the position of a "father" in the family. There's talk as to whether this show will be as popular as MBC's "Dad Where Are You Going." Actor Jang Hyun Sung, comedian Lee Hwi Jae, singer, Lee Hyun Woo, and mixed martial arts athlete Chu Sung Hoon appeared on the show.

On September 20, MBC's "Real Man" cast members appeared in "Real Man Secrets."  The show was a Chuseok special talk show.
