Upcoming Android Phones 2013: Oppo Unleashes N1, Packed With Rotating Camera, Color OS, Remote Control Keychain

There has been a lot of announcements both in the Android and iOS departments in the past few months and choosing the best smartphone is absolutely difficult. But if you are looking for upcoming Android phones 2013 that sport a much different look, then this offering from Oppo might pique your interest.

Today (PST time), the Chinese manufacturer announced its Oppo N1 smartphone, adding to the already impressive lineup of phones in its roster.

Featuring a 5.9" screen, the N1 is within the phablet territory and is up against Sony's Xperia Z1, Nokia's Lumia 1020, LG's G2 and Samsung's Galaxy Note 3. While most of its competition is powered by the latest version of Android OS, Oppo claims that it developed its own version which will provide more convenience when it comes to user interface.

Dubbed as Color OS, this platform is actually more like a modded version of Android, but Oppo clearly knew what it was doing. The OS was packed with several gesture-supported controls, as well as support for a touch-sensitive portion at the back of the smartphone. This provides an entirely new experience as far as navigation is concerned.

While the Oppo N1 packs a sleek design and impressive specifications, what separates it from the pack is its 13MP camera that can be rotated by up to 206 degrees, good for both rear and front shots.

The smartphone also comes with a sleek remote-like accessory that enables you check updates without taking out your phone.

The Oppo N1 will hit the shelves in October in China, though there are no reports if it will be released internationally.
