Official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Update Arriving To HTC One Developer Edition This Week In The US; Release In Canada Set For October

Reports said that an official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update will arrive to HTC One Developer Edition this week.

The flagship smartphone device of HTC was originally launched with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. While HTC One variants in Asia and Europe have already received the official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware, it seems that the US owners of the smartphone are far behind when it comes to software update.

However, there is a good news for HTC One US owners because apparently, US variants will get the official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean soon, totally skipping the Android 4.2.2 firmware.

When asked by a tweeter why the device will skip the Android 4.2.2 update, Mackenzie pointed out that the firmware only provides a limited benefit to users. Check out the tweet from Mackenzie below:

The president of global sales of HTC, Jason Mackenzie, as reported in Phandroid, announced via Twitter last month that the US variants as well as in Canada "can expect Android 4.3 - the absolute latest version of Android available - to be available before the end of September."

And since September is about to end already, Mackenzie posted a quick update on Twitter about the arrival of the official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. According to a more recent Phandroid report, Android 4.3 will hit the HTC One Developer Editions in the US only. It was also mentioned that HTC One users in Canada will be able to receive the official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update next month. His tweet is posted below:

Moreover, the Phandroid post reads, "...unfortunately there was no schedule on 4.3 for carrier banded models in the US (typical)." Mackenzie also did assure that the company is "working 'full speed' to obtain US carrier certification."

Here is another tweet from Mackenzie, responding from a query from another user:
