Richard Branson Virgin Galactic Spaceship2 Meets Reality TV; The Rebel Billionaire Producer Partners ‘The Voice’ producer Mark Brunett To Make ‘Space Race’

Richard Branson Virgin Galactic SpaceShip2 tour worth $250,000 is the prize of a reality show that the multi-billionaire Virgin owner will co-produce with Mark Brunette, the man behind 'The Voice' and 'Survivors'

The series, to be broadcast by NBC will give the audiences an 'intimate look at Virgin Galactic's Spaceport America in New Mexico.'

The winner will get a chance to travel 65-mile into the sky aboard the SpaceShipTwo Enterprise.

In a media statement, business mogul Richard Branson said, ""Virgin Galactic's mission is to democratize space, eventually making commercial space travel affordable and accessible to all."

"'Space Race' allows us to extend this opportunity of a lifetime to as many people as possible right at the start of our commercial service - through direct experience and television viewing," he added confidently.

Mark Brunette, co-owner of One Three Media is excited about the project, which when successful will be his dream come true.

Twice before, Brunette tried had creating space-travel based reality shows (Destination Mir and Destination Space) in conjunction with the Russian Space Program.

"For the past 10 years I have relentlessly pursued my dream of using a TV show to give an everyday person the chance to experience the black sky of space and look down upon mother Earth," said Brunette.

Richard Branson recently announced that the maiden flight of Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo is schedule to take place in the coming months.

The who's who of glamor world, including Justin Bieber, Paris Hilton, Brangelina have booked their seats on the ambitious commercial space travel flight.

Michael Schumacher is also on-board, reportedly having booked his seat three year back. It is unknown whether the winner of the proposed reality show 'Space Race' will be a part of the maiden flight.

The producers have not divulged any information about the show's format and dynamics; with Sir Richard on board, one can expect a lot of drilling and as always, it is going to be the survival of the fittest.
