OS X Mavericks Release Date: Will You Immediately Switch To The New Apple OS Once It’s Released? Poll Results Show Almost 100% Yes [POLL]

OS X Mavericks release date on October 15, less than two weeks from now, seems to be an event waiting to happen. In a report earlier in the week by 9t05Mac, they said that Apple has begun training its employees on the operating system’s features, installation process and troubleshooting operations.

But since the OS X Mavericks has already been announced last June at Apple’s WWDC, many would already be familiar with the features of the new OS. The mobile counterpart of the OS X Mavericks, the iOS 7, was already released but have met criticism and dismay by some users. Despite this, we ask our readers if they would still immediately switch to the new desktop software if it arrives.

The results was an almost 100% yes. We asked, “After iOS 7 Glitches and user Disarray, will you Immediately switch to the new Apple OS once it’s released?”

"The DP is incredibly awesome. I will get the official release as soon as I can,” wrote user Job Anson McKee. He added, “And I really don't like iOS 7, but I don't think the two are mutually inclusive.”

The DP is the developer’s preview of the OS X Mavericks, which is given to developers prior to the official release. Late Thursday, Apple released the Golden Masters version of OS X 10.9 Mavericks, which according to CNET, is likely the final release that goes out to consumers.

Another enthused user, said, “Yup, I’ve been running it from DP4 to DP8, works beautifully.” “This is not even a question,” wrote user Kingdom Bryant, about our question of switching to OS X Mavericks as soon as it’s available.

Out of the responses we’ve received, only one was cautious in an immediate switch. The user noted giving it sometime and waiting to see reviews primarily because of some software and tools that may not be immediately compatible.

“I'm not going to update straight away due to potential compatibility issues with sound equipment I work with such as pro tools desks and other digital reliant equipment,” wrote user Martin252.

“I'll look at the reviews and wait for bug fixes if there needs to be any and then do it,” the user added.

New features for the upcoming OS X include a new Mapps app, tabbed finder, iBooks, and an overhauled look at the calendar. Safari, the flagship browser for the Mac and iCloud Keychain is also in the new version with notable updates.

The price of updating to the OS X Mavericks has yet to be identified but in a June article by PC Mag, the most recent update, being the Mountain Lion costs $19.99 at the time of release, the update prior to Mountain Lion, Lion costs $29.99. The tech publication noted that it’s hard to imagine Apple charging more for the OS X Mavericks operating system considering the price of new updates has gone down over the years.
