Geico Hump Day Commercial: Camel Asks "What Day It It?" And Annoying Sixth Graders Follow [VIDEO]; Wedneday Marks The "Proverbial Hill" Of a Long Week

A Geico Hump Day Commercial has captured so much attention that even teachers are banning it!
The Geico Hump Day Commercial begins with a camel walking into an office. The camel asks people what day it is, but most people ignore him - until one forlorn worker says "It's hump day". Apparently, switching to their insurance product makes you "happier than a camel on Wednesday".
The Geico Hump Day Commercial plays on the idiomatic English expression "Hump Day", which refers to the day in the middle of the work week, Wednesday.  According to Urban Dictionary, Hump Day is defined as "The middle of a work week (Wednesday); used in the context of climbing a proverbial hill to get through a tough week." The Geico Hump Day Commercial makes a pun of the expression, humorously alluding to the camel's humps.
Geico is known for its meme worthy commercials, such as the "So Simple Even A Caveman Could Do It" Series, and its spokesman the talking Gecko.  The Geico Hump Day commercial looks to be a new classic of the genre.
The Geico Hump Day Commercial seems to have become especially popular, and now students at one middle school are quoting it so often that the teachers want to ban it, according to Gawker.
Student Brooke Lewis told WFSB: "Everybody's walking around in the hallways and saying its hump day in that weird voice.  Sometimes its the counting down to when it is."
According to Gawker, the students who are quoting the Geico Hump Day Commercial are mostly sixth graders - and sometimes sixth graders can be a little immature!
