Install Official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update On Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0; US Wifi Version Of The Tablet Gets Firmware Via OTA or Samsung KIES

Users of Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 US can now install the official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update.

Samsung has recently rolled out the official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the Wifi version of the Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet. Citing Android Central forum post, NDTV Gadgets reported that the official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update is now rolling out to Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Wifi in the US via Over-the-Air or OTA.

The official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update offers a more stable user interface for the Galaxy Note 8. Moreover, there are minor tweaks made to the TouchWiz interface including Contacts, S Planner and Email.

The official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is, in total, 662 MB heavy, and it can also be downloaded an installed via the desktop app for Samsung, the KIES. Meanwhile, Samsung has not revealed any confirmation yet regarding the release of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 in other countries and regions.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet was introduced at Mobile World Congress that happened earlier this year and it originally came out of the box with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Some of the specs of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 are 8-inch WXGA 1280 x 800 display with 189 ppi pixel density. It is powered by 1.6 GHz quad-core processor and equipped with 2 GB RAM. Galaxy Note 8.0 comes with two options for the internal storage, the 16 GB and the 32 GB. However, there is also an option to expand storage via MicroSD with up to 64 GB capacity.

The tablet sports a 5 MP primary camera and 1.3 MP front camera. It is also packed with 4600 mAh battery. And similar to other Galaxy Note devices, the tablet also comes with the highly useful S Pen.
