Prince George To Have A Non-Traditional Christening: Prince William And Kate Middleton Choose Friends Over Royalty Members As Grandparents Of Their Son

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge again prove their humility by preferring friends over royal-blooded members for the godparents of their beloved Prince George.

In 1982, Prince William's godparents include iconic royalties particularly the Duchess of Westminster, Princess Alexandra, the Honourable Lady Ogilvy, former King Constantine of Greece, Lady Susan Hussey, Lord Romsey and Sir Laurens van der Post.

On the other hand, Prince George's christening on October 23 will strictly have 60 guests. Many royal guests have been omitted from the guest list of the royal affair which will be held in the Chapel Royal in St. James Palace, the very same spot where the late Princess Diana was laid to rest prior to her funeral at Westminster Abbey.

'The Sunday Times' has revealed some of the persons who'd be the royal baby's godparents:

-          Prince William's university friend Fergus Boyd, who like the royal couple, previously lived in St. Andrew's residence hall. The three eventually moved into a flat.

-          Duchess Catherine's Marlborough College friend Emilia d'Erlanger who is likewise the prince's friend. She is the co-owner of London-based interior design firm D'Erlanger and Sloan.

-          The prince's childhood friend Hugh van Cutsem. Prince William is also the godfather of van Cutsem's daughter Grace who served as a flower girl at the royal wedding.
