American Idol Season 13 Spoilers: Show To Have New Twists And New Song Catalog

The production people behind 'American Idol' Season 13 have finally noticed pleas from fans to change the show's song catalog.

Executive producer Per Blankens reveals that the upcoming season of the famed Fox music show will have a fresher list of songs. Such songs are the ones which were only written in the most recent years. Nonetheless, there will still be weeks wherein the theme will revolve around classic musicians such as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, The Beatles, Elton John, and Barbara Streissand.

Modern artists such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Jesse James, and even Miley Cyrus will reportedly be included in the new catalog as well.  Nonetheless, Blankens asks viewers not to expect changes that are "too radical". He adds that it will not be necessary for the show to use new songs each week: "There was no need to really come up with one big new gimmick. That doesn't mean we're going to do Billboard Top 10 every week. But if someone wants to sing a current song, they're going to at least have the choice."

'American Idol' has experienced plummeting ratings especially with the presence of its competitor show, 'The Voice'. With the changes that will soon be introduced, onlookers are wondering whether the show that has produced iconic artists will be able to redeem its glory days.
