Glee Ends After Season 6 -- Creator Ryan Murphy Talks About The End

Creator of the popular series "Glee," Ryan Murphy, announced that the show will end after season 6. The show will not continue after six seasons because of the death of main character Finn, played by Cory Monteith.

Monteith, who played Finn Hudson in the popular musical series, died last July 2013 reportedly because of drug overdose.

The co-creator of the series admitted to reporters that the story for the sixth season of the show was supposed to revolve around the Rachel-Finn story. When the unexpected thing happened he thought of a way to twist and push through with the story.

"The whole [last] year of the show -- which will be next year -- was really designed around Rachel-Cory/Finn story," Murphy told Entertainment Weekly. "I always knew that. I always knew how it would end. I knew what the last shot was -- he was in it. I knew what the last line was; she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we're figuring that out now."

As for the final season, Murphy told reporters that he now has an idea on how they will end the series.

"I have a good idea. I'm going to tell the studio and the network [in a week] how after Cory's unfortunate passing we can end the show that I think is very satisfactory. And kind of in his honour, which I love."

In the meantime, "Glee" is currently showing its fifth season which premiered in September. The character of Monteith appeared to have died in the show and the third episode was dedicated to him wherein they paid tribute to the main character.
