Mary-Kate And Ashley Olsen Reveal "Full House" Costume Secrets: Michelle Wore Chanel; 12 Designer Outfits A Week Made Them Clothing Designers

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are now successful designers-but their whole life has been filled with designer clothes.

Duck lips aside, there's a lot about them that's fashionable.

While on "Full House" as child stars playing Michelle Tanner, their wardrobe consisted of adult designer labels cut to fit children.

From Chanel to Marc Jacobs, the "Full House" stars wore grown-up clothes cut for kids. And it's had an impact on the rest of their lives.

They spent a lot of time in fittings, Ashley Olsen noted. And thus, fashion played a huge role in their early lives as children.

"We'd be in six-hour fittings three times a week," she said. "We had to wear 12 different outfits!"

However, Mary-Kate and Ashley designed their own outfits eventually, in part due to their petite size.

"We were designing clothes for ourselves as we were so petite," Mary-Kate said. "So I think that is when we became obsessed with fit, and now the obsession has become a profession."

Now, the Olsen twins, 27, have designed their own life...and it includes living life out of the cameras, as much as possible.

"There is a threshold in New York, and once you pass that and are considered a New Yorker, they leave you alone," Ashley said. "But we're at the office every day, then home or out for dinner, so there aren't the opportunities for them to take pictures. For the most part you try and avoid it. ... [I do], at least."
