Katy Perry Sees Stevie Nicks As Her Role Model: “I’m So Honored That She Would Make Time For Me,” Says The ‘Roar’ Singer

One month after Stevie Nicks tells everyone that her favorite song is Katy Perry's jungle-inspired 'Roar', the latter talks about her friendship with the rock music icon.

In a question-and-answer session with SiriusXM, Perry explains her admiration for Nicks: "She is a beautiful woman. She just has so many little nuggets of wisdom and sees straight through my soul and she's very kind, and a sweet woman. I'm so honored that she would make time for me. But I like hearing what people who have gone before me have to say about all this stuff."

Apart from Nicks, Perry likewise elaborated the female artists who inspired her: "Gwen Stefani was really important for me. She wore this 1940s polka dot dress in the 'Don't Speak' music video. And I wanted that. So I would go thrift store shopping all the time. And I tried to find that kind of vintage, 1940s polka dot navy blue dress."

Her inspiration list likewise includes Alanis Morissette, Bjork, Shirely Manson, and Madonna.

At present, she serves as young pop star Ariana Grande's role model. "I got to hang out with her and listen to her record before it came out because I wanted to reach out to her and just be like 'Hey girl, you're just about to go through a whirlwind. Let me kind of give you a couple of tips if you ever need anything; hairstylist, make-up artist, stylist whatever.'"

She adds that she wants Nicks to be her role model like what she is to Grande: "If anyone were to have done that with me, I would have felt really lucky. And I kind of want to get this wisdom from Stevie ... in some ways."
