Susan Sarandon Signs to New NBC Pilot with Daughter As Struggling Network Looks For a New Direction

Susan Sarandon and her daughter have been cast in a new NBC pilot as the network is looking to make a comeback.

NBC's comedy lines-up needs a new infusion of funny, so they signed Susan Sarandon and her daughter Eva Amurri Martino. Actress Rashida Jones signed on as executive producer.

NBC has seen rapidly falling ratings and one new show has already failed. The struggling network turned to Susan Sarandon and her real-life daughter to play a fictional mother and daughter in "Growing Ivy." Eva Amurri Martino will play an ambitious professional woman and her mother, Susan Sarandon, will play a free spirit.

Susan Sarandon's daughter, Eva Amurri Martino, came up with the concept for the show. "Growing Ivy" already has a pilot production commitment from NBC.

Susan Sarandon has been doing more work on television lately. The former Janet from The Rocky Horror Picture Show recently filmed a guest appearance for "Mike & Molly" and will appear on the Showtime program "The Big C." Susan Sarandon, who has won acting Oscars at the Academy Awards, has been nominated for Emmys for her roles on "You Don't Know Jack," "Bernard and Doris," "Malcolm in the Middle" and "Friends."
