Cressida and Prince Harry have been dating for at least 18 months and are "now seen as an item by family and friends," The Mail reports.
One source close to the couple told the publication: "She's very, very nervous, about everything, but Prince Harry is being very protective of her and wants her there."
Perhaps one thing that will persuade Cressida to go to the christening is that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, or Will and Kate as they are more commonly known, want the christening to be a private and intimate gathering of family and friends. The event is believed to have a guest list of only 60 people.
This also suggests that Cressida Bonas' invitation to the christening is a sign that the couple are becoming more serious and the royal family wants to include her in their important events.
Kensington Palace has declined to confirm any details about the christening, including the names of godparents and other guests, The Mail reports.
