Cory Monteith’s Death Declared As ‘Accidental’ By Coroner: ‘Glee’ Actor Miscalculated The Heroin Dose That He Took

The tragic death of Cory Monteith last July 13 was declared "accidental" by the coroner who examined the 'Glee' actor's remains.

The 31-year-old Canadian actor was found unconscious in a room at the Pacific Rim Hotel. Surrounding the actor were drug paraphernalia including a used hypodermic needle, a spoon with drug remnants, two consumed Champagne bottles, and several wine glasses.

According to the coroner's report, "intravenous heroin use in combination with ingestion of alcohol" took away the life of the actor who plays Finn Hudson in the hit musical series. When he died, the actor had a blood alcohol level of 0.13%.

The coroner has likewise noted that since Monteith took a period off heroin, his body was not able to withstand the dose which he used to take.

"Mr. Monteith was found in a collapsed position on the hotel room floor. It appeared that Mr. Monteith had been dead for several hours," claims the coroner.

In line with the abrupt passing of Monteith, 'Glee' will have a tribute episode for him this October 10 which is titled 'The Quarterback'.
