Amy Yang Wins HanaBank Golf Championship; Eighth Korean to Win Since 2002.

Amy Yang was the eight Korean to win the HanaBank golf championship since 2002. This was the first time Amy Yang competed at the tournament.

On Sunday in Incheon, South Korea, Amy Yang won the KEB LPGA HanaBank Championship by outlasting a one-hole playoff with Hee Kyung Seo. The two South Koreans shot 9-under over the three-day tournament in regulation.

Amy Yang began the day one stroke behind co-leaders Katherine Hull-Kirk and Anna Nordqvist but surged into a tie for the lead in the 8-under for the tournament after an eagle at the par-4 15th. She and birdied the par-5 18th to force a playoff with Seo. They each hit tee-shots on the first playoff hole that went off. Amy Yang went into the right rough and Hee Kyung Seo went into the left rough.

Amy Yang won with a birdie on the first playoff hole at the par-5 18th. Amy Yang won a $250,000 winner's check.

Amy Yang is the fourth first-time winner this season. She came close to competing several times, each time falling short until Sunday.

Amy Yang has been an LPGA Tour member since 2009.

Amy Yang said "I have been waiting for this championship for a long time, and I'm really happy get it in my home country. I think, still, I can't believe it."

Amy Yang is the eighth Korean to win the HanaBank Championship since 2002.
