Charlie Hunnam Left ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Movie Cast Because Of ‘Family Stuff’ And Father's Recent Death? Opens Up In Interview

Did Charlie Hunnam leave the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie cast because of family issues, and his father's recent death? In a new recent interview, Charlie Hunnam opens up for the first time about why he left the cast of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie and why he forfeited the coveted Christian Grey role.

Charlie Hunnam, 33, appeared at an event in Burbank, California and opened up to E! News about his decision to leave the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie cast.

"I am doing good. I am just really concentrating on work. It's been a really busy time," he told E! News.

Hunnam, whose father reportedly passed away in May, added, "I have had some family stuff going on so just trying to stay focused and stay positive and keep trying to do a good job at work and be with my family and stay positive."

Perhaps Hunnam decided the huge amount of press attention around him following his new Christian Grey role was too much to handle, especially so soon after his father's death.

Hunnam also spoke to E! News about what it will be like wrapping up season six of the hit FX series "Sons of Anarchy."

"Like I said, I've got some family stuff I have to tend to. So when I wrap the show, I am going to go to England and see my people and then I have a film that I am doing with Guillermo [del Toro]. So I am going to go and do that and concentrate on the final seasons of Sons."

Hunnam was with his other "Sons of Anarchy" co-stars at the the 2nd annual "Hogs for Heart" event benefiting One Heart Source Education Programs in Africa at Mo's Restaurant in Burbank, E! News reports.

The fundraiser raised a total of $90,000.

Hunnam will team up with "Pacific Rim" director Guillermo del Toro for the horror thriller "Crimson Peak," which is set to shoot in early 2014.
