MacBook Pro Retina Display 2013 release date: After months of waiting, it has finally arrived. At Apple’s press conference today, the company unveiled the latest MacBook Pro models with Retina display sporting Intel Haswell processors. Both models, the 13-inch and 15-inch has been updated and is now available at the Apple Store.

The 13-inch model is lighter, less than 3.5 lbs and less than an inch thick (.71 to be exact). The laptop has integrated graphics and the new Thunderbolt, which could help drive external Retina displays.

Flash-based storage is faster and comes with a new Wi-Fi chip, as earlier rumored, supporting the 802.11ac standard – the same spec found in the MacBook Air. The new 13-inch model is now available for $1,299, it’s $200.00 less than the price of the previous entry-level model at $1,499. For the price, the user gets a 2.5GHz dual core i5, 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage as well as the Intel Iris graphics.

The 15-inch model has also been updated and it comes with a quad-core processor and Intel Iris Pro graphics. Similar to the 13-inch, it has been made $200.00 cheaper with a starting price of $1,999. Specs for the most affordable 15-inch include 2.0GHz quad core i7, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and the Iris Pro graphics integrated chip.

Both of the Macbooks are now available for order today. According to Tech Crunch, the old MacBook Pros with DVD drive maybe slowly phased out and that Apple is definitely not putting emphasis on its thick MacBook Pro.
