Nokia World 2013 Abu Dhabi Update: Army Of Nokia Lumia Phones, Phablets and Tablets Launched!

The Nokia World 2013 was probably one of Finnish mobile giant’s much awaited conference ever held. Nokia World in Abu Dhabi is most likely to be remembered as its last main event before it completely surrenders to Microsoft.

Stephen Elop, Nokia’s former CEO, resigned to head the company’s devices and services division until his transfer to Microsoft.
Elop admitted to BBC that the company was presented with “a very difficult challenge,” when it decided to choose Windows rather than Android as an OS.

"It's been hard. It's a very difficult challenge; it's a very competitive environment, but we're pleased with the fact that we're building momentum," he added.

The event unveiled an army of Lumia Phones:

Lumia 1520 the company’s flagship phone with a whopping 6-inch screen, 20MP Pureview camera and 1080p display will sell for $739 in the fourth quarter of 2013. The cheaper $339 Lumia 1320 also with 6-inch screen but with smaller 720p display will be available in the market for the first quarter of 2014.

Microsoft and Nokia are both very proud of the Nokia Lumia 1520’s software as it features a Windows Phone 8 with what they call “Lumia Black.”
The Nokia Lumia 1520 is packed with features like, the Nokia Beamer app, Nokia HERE Drive+ with global free turn-by-turn navigation, the Nokia Storyteller app, the new Nokia Camera app, true offline support and audible speed limit warnings, but also Microsoft's new suite of Bing apps and customized ringtones for individual contacts, a first on Windows Phone.

Nokia also launched three more models to its Asha range. A rather low-end handset targeted to market consumers on a budget. These models run the Nokia Series 40 OS rather than Windows Phone.

"It's important for Nokia and Microsoft to connect the next billion people," said Elop, saying that Microsoft would find Asha's popularity a convenient way to promote some of its services such as Skydrive cloud storage product.

Instagram is finally making its way to Windows Phone!

This is a rather delightful surprise for Windows Phone users and those who are considering Nokia. It has been months since Nokia was trying to convince Instagram to offer its app to Windows officially.

This is probably the most rumored and anticipated product in Nokia World 2013 Conference, the unveiling of Nokia’s first ever tablet, the 10.1-inch Lumia 2520.

The Windows RT 8.1 tablet with LTE is expected to sell this coming fall, with an initial roll out price of $499, kicking off in the US, UK and Finland.
The much talked about tablet is paired with a $150 Nokia Power Keyboard, a wraparound cover which features full function keyboard with gesture trackpad and amazingly provides five extra hours of battery life.
