Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Release Date: Android Handset W/ 4.3-Inch Display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Processor, 1.5GB RAM Arriving November, Labeled ‘Compact Smartphone’

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini release date: The handset that Samsung is touting as the “compact smartphone” is arriving in U.S. shores this November, the South Korean tech giant announced Wednesday. The company says the device will be 4.9-inches by 2.4 inches and will be equipped with a dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor.

Other specs of the soon to be released Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini includes 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage inside. It could also be expanded via a 64GB capacity microSD slot. It comes with a 1900mAh removable battery and has Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. It is also expected to be made compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Gear pending an upcoming software update.

"Samsung continues to provide a wide range of products to fit consumers’ needs. The Galaxy S 4 mini continues that commitment by bringing the paramount features of our flagship Galaxy S 4 smartphone to a smaller, more compact form factor," says Gregory Lee, president of Samsung Mobile, in a statement regarding the new handset.

According to Phone Arena, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will be available in Black Mist and White Frost and U.S. carriers Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and U.S. Cellular will be have the device available.

Other specs of the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini include special models for the 8MP rear-facing camera such as Beauty Face, Best Photo, Sound and Shot, and Panorama. The zero shutter lag capability of the handset means enables the user to have the camera ready to document any situation or event. WatchON allows the S4mini owner to use the device as a remote for TV, Easy Mode allows users to have a homescreen complete with a browser, calendar, camera and messaging.
