Jamie Dornan 50 Shades Of Grey Gig Confirmed; Matt Bomer Fans Sad, Want Him As Control Freak Christian Grey

Jamie Dornan has been cast in 50 Shades of Grey film adaptation of the popular E.L. James' erotic trilogy. The northern Irish model and actor will play the multibillionaire protagonist Christian Grey alongside Dakota Johnson who is playing the female lead, Anastasia Steele.

The reports came late Wednesday evening after Variety and The Hollywood Reporter announced the confirmation news on their website. Jamie Dornan, a successful model with Calvin Klein, Armani and Dior, will replace Charlie Hunman in the highly talked about movie.

The 'Sons of Anarchy' actor had pulled out of the movie two weeks back on grounds of hectic schedule. Media sources speculated that 'creative differences' with the director and relatively-meager fee may have prompted Hunman to leave the project.

Reports say that Hunman was offered $125,000 for playing erotically inclined Christian Grey, a sum some analysts touted to be less in context of the revenue that the trilogy generated.

Speculations regarding Dornan's casting gained momentum a week after Hunman's exit. According to sources, Dornan rehearsed a few parts with Dakota Johnson last Friday.

Now that the protagonists have been cast, director Sam-Taylor Johnson and producer Michael De Luca along with Universal and Focus Features seem all set to begin filming on November 1, 2013.

Meanwhile, Matt Bomer fans have taken to Twitter to express their resentment against casting of Jamie Dornan as the control freak Christian Grey and want Matt Bomer to play "The richest, most elusive, most enigmatic bachelor" Grey.

During the casting process for the movie, Matt Bomer and 50 shades fans had created a Change.org petition to lobby for the selection of Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel in the lead roles.

Other actors who were being speculated upon to play Christian Grey include Ian Somerhalder, Robert Pattinson, Scott Eastwood, Theo James and others. The movie will release in August, 2014.
