IWork Free Download – Apple Giving Away Apps And OS As Response To Window’s Challenge

Recently announced by Apple in their Event this October was an iWork free download. The counterpart of MS Office for Apple, is now available for free download for Mac users and will also installed in the latest upcoming devices.

Along with the announcement of free downloads, the company announced a facelift for the apps included. The tech company from Cupertino being known as a minimalist when it comes to designs reiterated that "It's about not cluttering screens with controls," said Eddy Cue, who presented the new software. He also pointed out that Microsoft charges $99 a year for their Office 365 and to answer back, they are giving theirs out for free.

"Others would have you spend a small fortune every year just to get their apps," the Vice President of Internet software and services said. "We want to do something bold, something that changes the rule of the game. We're taking all of these productivity apps and making them for free with the purchase of a Mac or iOS"

Included in the facelift is a new feature wherein you can share your documents, spreadsheets or presentation with anyone and edit anything on one file at the same time.

"You can even collaborate with a friend who's stuck on a PC," said Cue.

Alongside the capability for iCloud syncing, Keynote now has new transition animations, more interactive charts for Numbers and updated editing panels for Pages among others.

In line with this, Apple introduced a new set of iLife apps also free for download in devices such as the iPhone and iPads.

IWork includes apps such as Pages, Numbers and Keynote and iLife contains apps like iPhoto and iVideo.

The October 23 event was also the release date for the iPad Air and iPad mini with retina display.
