Samsung Galaxy S3 Update, News: After Disappointing Wait For Android 4.2.2, Australian Carrier Expected To Give Update This November

Samsung Galaxy S3 and the news that the update for the device is arriving is starting to get some confusing twist. After a lot of people were disappointed by the news that Android 4.2.2 is not arriving for the gadget in favor of the Android 4.3, many were expecting that Samsung will be delivering the Android 4.3 soon.

It has been reported that the Android 4.3 has already rolled out for Samsung Galaxy S4 users in Korea and that the updates for the devices are gaining steam, thus, many are anticipating that Android 4.3 for Samsung Galaxy S3 is coming soon.

Australian carrier Telstra, however, noted that it will make available the Android 4.2.2 for its Samsung Galaxy S3 users this November. Gotta Be Mobile reports that the carrier confirmed a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for November and surprisingly, listed Samsung Galaxy S3 as expected to have the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update.

In GBM’s report, concerned customers asked if it was a typo, but at least one person who received a response from Telstra was informed that the updated list of Telstra devices getting an update is accurate.

Samsung has not changed its statement and has actually confirmed this week the host of new features coming for the Android 4.3 update. Gotta Be Mobile lists the new features that the S3 will have after it gets the Android 4.3 update:

- Samsung KNOX*, a secure and comprehensive mobile solution for enterprises and consumers. (*Galaxy S III 3G version will get Samsung KNOX with a platform security only in select countries.)
- Smart Switch to seamlessly transfer content from other smartphones to Samsung devices.
- HomeSync to store, share and enjoy content securely wherever you are.
- Group Play 2.5 with shared video support.
- New capabilities provide easier text input, and updated graphics and multimedia.

Samsung Galaxy S3 users have until the end of the year to see if the update will arrive.
