Fifty Shades Of Grey Casting Update: Is “True Blood” Star Luke Grimes A Good Choice To Play “Laters, baby” Role?

“True Blood” star Luke Grimes has now officially joined Fifty Shades of Grey movie to play the “Laters, baby” role a famous line by the older and muscular brother of Christian, Elliot Grey.

The Fifty Shades of Grey twitter account confirmed the news earlier:

The 29-year old actor will play alongside Jamie Dornan, as Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson, as Anastasia Steele in the much anticipated movie adaptation of the best-selling saucy novel. The novel’s author E.L. James describes Elliot in the book as muscular, tall in his 30’s guy with blue eyes and curly blond hair. Well Grimes seems to be fitting the description. Grimes already has a line of impressive recognitions on his resume, he is well known in the role of James in the latest episodes of blood-sucking vampire series True Blood. Luke also played in Brothers and Sisters and films like action thriller Taken 2 alongside Liam Neeson and All the Boys Love Mandy Lane.

We have gathered some of the fans reaction regarding the recent casting in the movie and here is what they have to say:

According to Sophia Pembrook, from a comment she posted on entertainmentwise.com’s article about Luke Grimes being casted as Elliot Grey:

“Wow this is awful. He's a great actor but he's NOT Elliot Grey. Elliot is supposed to be even taller than Christian, and is a big masculine guy with blonde curly hair an blue eyes. First they botch up the role of Ana, then Christian, now this? Are they really having THAT hard of a time finding good actors that resemble the characters? Surely it's not that difficult! Ugh.”

While Renee Sollock thinks that, the role fits Paul Walker better: “As if...where's the blue eyes and curly hair? They give us straight hair...brown eyes with dark circles! Paul Walker fits the bill better. AND Dornan sucks too!”

Well lola d. thinks otherwise from the comment she posted on thehollywoodgossip.com saying “This is absolutely my perfect guy.”

On the other hand Jeanette thinks that someone is better off playing the role You know who would make a great elliot?! Kellan lutz!!!! ,”a comment was posted at thehollywoodgossip.com as well.

The movie is supposed to begin production on Vancouver on November 5, according to Production Weekly, but apparently the production has been pushed back to begin filming December 2 – February 20.
