Catherine Zeta-Jones-Michael Douglas Divorce Not Working Out; `Sometimes People Take a Little Bit of a Break' (Video)

Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas’s divorce isn’t working out. The star acting couple have been hinting that they might be calling off their divorce proceedings.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas announced their separation in August. While separation is usually the first step towards a divorce, Michael Douglas is hoping that Catherine Zeta-Jones won’t be signing a legal divorce papers anytime soon.

While promoting his upcoming film “Last Vegas” on Monday, Michael Douglas told “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” that he is hopeful that there would be reconciliation with Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Michael Douglas said, “I’ve been away for a while, but everything should hopefully be on the up-and-up. Sometimes people take a little bit of a break, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that’s the end. So I’m very hopeful.”

Michael Douglas mentioned getting back together with Catherine Zeta-Jones while promoting the HBO original movie about Liberace, “Behind the Candelabra,” in Europe. When asked about trouble in the Catherine Zeta-Jones marriage, Douglas told reporters, “I have a crisis at home? No, I think the press has a crisis. We are fine. My wife and I are fine.”

When Michael Douglas won the Emmy for his role as Liberace in “Behind the Candelabra,” he thanked his “wife” Catherine Zeta-Jones. After opening with a joke, Michael Douglas said, “…I want to thank my wife Catherine for her support…”

After the Emmy Awards , Michael Douglas told Entertainment Tonight’s Nancy O’Dell, “Everybody is fine. Nothing really more to say. We were just taking a little break. We’re talking. I think everything will be fine and I’m very hopeful.”
