NBA Deals 2013: Samsung Is Now The Official Provider Of NBA Gadgets - $100 Million Deal Finalized

Samsung just signed on for a $100 million three-year deal with NBA, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal. The Korean company, which is the world's largest maker of smartphones will now officially supply the National Basketball Association with courtside gadgets.

Samsung will be providing its tablets and TVs for use by the NBA, the NBA Development League and the Women's National Basketball Association. Coaches, referees and players will be able to use either the tablets or the TVs provided by Samsung during the game.

In addition, the management of NBA included in the agreement that daily recaps and analysis will be made using the devices provided by Samsung wherein fans of the league will see the company's latest gadgets.

That will be the underlying agreement between the two giant companies. Moreover, further collaboration has been made - such as NBA will be customizing video contents for Samsung devices in addition to the brand exposure during primetime games, highlights and key events, including play offs and All-Star functions.

The Korean company, which is the biggest technology company in Asia, is in quest of establishing a deeper market in North America by pairing its devices like smartphones and tablets with big US names. Samsung has collaborated with big stars like LeBron James and Jay-Z before this deal was made.

Furthermore, the current agreement with NBA must have been due to a successful partnership between Samsung and Phoenix Suns, wherein the staff of the team were provided with Samsung Galaxy Tabs to assist them in their daily duties.

While Samsung have secured a deal with NBA, the Android smartphone maker must surely be eager to land in an even more lucrative market such as NFL. It has been noted that a number of squads in the league, including Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens, have already been using iPad apps in transitioning their massive playbooks. Nevertheless, Samsung still has sufficient prospects.
