Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Motorola Announces Modular Phone Concept, Lets You Upgrade Hardware With Ease

There are a lot of upcoming Android phones in 2014, which includes the Samsung Galaxy S5, the Note 4, and probably new flagships from Sony, LG and HTC. However, this particular phone concept separates itself from the pack.

Yesterday, Motorola announced Ara, a modular phone concept that it has been working on for the past year. The phone's concept is simple: it is composed of 'blocks' which can easily be replaced by the user.

For instance, if the owner wants to iupgrade the camera, he can do so by simply putting a higher-end camera. That also applies for the display, battery, CPU and other hardware features.

A few months ago, the Phonebloks concept was presented in greater detail by Dave Hakkens, but let's face it - while it is one of the coolest ideas ever in this industry, seeing it was believed to be next to impossible.

But now that a world-renowned OEM is working on it, this concept might actually see the light of day.
