Minecon 2013 Set For This Weekend, November 2-3; Email With Free Capes For Third All-Things Minecraft Event Sent Out

The much-awaited Minecon 2013 is happening in just a few days from now.

This coming weekend, November 2-3, the third event for all-things Minecraft is all set to happen. And as promised, attendees will have free capes, just like what Mojang did for the first two Minecon events they had.

According to a Twitter post from Tobias Mollstam (@mollstam), emails with Minecon 2013 capes were already sent out. Accordingly, they were delivered to the email address used for purchasing the Minecon 2013 tickets.

Earlier this year, Mojang revealed that Minecon 2013 will happen in Orlando, Florida. Later, the indie game developer announced that the specific venue for Minecon 2013 is at Orange County Convention Center, located at 9990 International Drive, Orlando Florida. Minecon 2013 will more particularly be held at the West Building of the convention center, WA3-WB1.

Originally, Mojang planned that attendees 16 years old and younger must have an adult companion, but after further research, they decided to lower it to 14 years old.  There were a total of 7500 Minecon 2013 tickets released but they were divided and sold separately in three different batches.

Meanwhile, Mojang has already pre-released Minecraft 1.7.2 update, which according to Mojang's official blogsite, is the "Update that Changed the World." The pre-release version of Minecraft 1.7.2 update has been released to fix serious crashes, as well as "inability to start on some Linux computers."

The post regarding Minecraft 1.7.2 update reads, "It feels like we've been working on this for a year now, with more than half a million lines of code changed over 1,104 commits we've been working extremely hard on this update. We're calling this one "The update that changed the world", because it really has in two different ways; there's over twice the amount of ingame biomes, and we've overhauled lots of the code preparing for the plugin API."
