Upcoming Android Phones 2013: Motorola Unveils Moto G, Boasts 4.5" Display, Quad-Core CPU, And 5MP Shooter Starting At $179

The industry has always looked up on Motorola as a perennial favorite among smartphone brands. However, several mistakes left the company in shambles. That's where Google came in and begin turning things around. Earlier today, it has announced its bet for the midrange category, the Moto G.

In case you haven't heard, the company's flagship, the Moto X has had a dismal performance, selling only 500,000 units in three months. In contrast, Apple's iPhone 5s sold millions of units in just one weekend.

Motorola recognize the challenge and made a another bold move - this time aiming at the overcrowded midrange category. But with the Moto G's 4.5-inch display at 720p resolution, 13MP camera and quad-core CPU, this is certainly a must-have for consumers who are looking for less expensive alternatives.

Additional features include an Adreno 305 GPU, 1GB of RAM and a front camera enough for taking selfies.

With all the juicy specs here, you will identify that the Moto G is a midranger based on the size of the battery. At 1950mAh, the battery is not that bad, but for power-user owners, that would mean less than a full day playing games, watching videos and managing tasks.

But just in case you are willing to overlook the details mentioned, the price might come as a pleasant surprise for you.

According to GSM Arena, the Motorola Moto G will begin at $179 for the 8GB edition.
