Jennifer Lawrence’s Statement Irked Joan Rivers; ‘Fashion Police’ Host Accused Actress Of ‘Tripping Over Her Own Arrogance’

Fashion Police host Joan Rivers feels that Jennifer Lawrence is being unfair and unreasonable for accusing the Hollywood news show and just last Tuesday, Rivers publicized her sentiments over Twitter.

"It's funny how Jennifer Lawrence loved @E_FashionPolice during Awards Season when we were complimenting her every single week... But now that she has a movie to promote, suddenly we're picking on all those poor, helpless actors," Rivers first wrote.

The host did not stop there for she likewise mentioned the time when Lawrence tripped during last year's Oscars prior to receiving her Best Actress award for the film, 'Silver Linings Playbook':  "Wait! It just dawned on me why Jennifer Lawrence fell on her way up to the stage to get her Oscar. She tripped over her own arrogance."

The Twitter posts of the fashion critic were motivated by Lawrence's recent interview with Yahoo wherein she used Fashion Police as an example of shows that promote wrong values. "There are shows like Fashion Police that are just showing these generations of young people to judge people based on all the wrong values and that it's okay to point at people and call them ugly or fat. They call it 'fun' and they say 'welcome to the real world' -- and that shouldn't be the real world. It's going to continue being the real world if we keep it that way. We have to stop treating each other like that and stop calling each other fat," said the 23-year-old actress.

Lawrence likewise expressed her displeasure for media's idealistic portrayal of women: "There are unrealistic expectations for women, it's disappointing that the media keeps it alive and fuels that fire. It's something that really bothers me -- because I love to eat. What are you going to do? Be hungry every single day to make other people happy? That's just dumb."

The actress once admitted that she refused to become a victim of diet fads despite the constant pressure coming from Hollywood.
