Sony Xperia Z1 Mini price, release date, specs: The Sony Xperia Z1, the flagship of the Japanese tech giant, is having a compact version that is capturing the attention of the tech community. The “mini” version was released in Japan as the Sony Xperia Z1f and is expected to be released globally as the Sony Xperia Z1s this month.

Being water-resistant and dust-proof are some of the key specs of the 4.3-inch Z1f, it is expected that the specs of the Z1f will be similar to its international version. The Japanese version of the Sony Xperia Z1 Mini will be on sale by December and will be sold exclusively by telecom giant NTT DoCoMo.

According to the International Business Times, one of the key attraction to the compact version of the Xperia Z1 is is the fact that it packs the hardware specs of the original flagship, with only the battery and the obvious size being downgraded. Under the hood, the Sony Xperia Z1 Mini is a clone of the Xperia Z1, the latter also hailed as an incredible new device in the smartphone market.

Other specs of the expected Sony Xperia Z1 Mini include a 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, Adreno 330 graphic engine, 2GB RAM and a 16GB inbuilt memory. It boasts the same 20.7MP camera which can be found in the Xperia Z1.

There are no reports or rumors on the price, but if the pricing strategy of former mini versions is followed, the Sony Xperia Z1 Mini could be $100-200 cheaper than its flagship. This pegs the possible price of the compact version to be around $400-500.
