Star Trek Movie Casting Director Marvin Paige Died On November 13 Due To Injuries From A Car Accident in Laurel Canyon – ‘He Was The Go-to-guy For Wrangling Iconic Celebrities,’ Says Lozzi

Sad news for Star Trek movie and film industry came in from variety.com report as casting director Marvin Paige died on November 13 due to injuries he inflicted from a car accident in Laurel Canyon Boulevard last month.

According to Ed Lozzi, Paige's publicist, the highly acclaimed casting director died at Cedars-Sinai at the age of 80.

Paige who is known in casting characters on "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and the soap opera "General Hospital," worked as a handler for celebrities.

He started on casting department when he worked on the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's," though his work was not credited.

The famed casting director worked on almost 100 episodes of "General Hospital," where he was twice nominated in Artios from the Casting Society of America. He's responsible why Demi Moore and Tia Carrere was in the soap.

Among his casting work for television series are "Combat!", "Planet of the Apes" and "Lassie." His film credits included the movies "Terminal Island," "The Man Next Door," Mae West's "Sextette" and the Woody Allen flicks "Take the Money and Run" and "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex (But Were Afraid to Ask)."

In movies, he worked with two of Woody Allen's films, "Take the Money and Run" and "Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex."

After spending decades as a casting director Paige decided to move on from his career and work as a "celebrity wrangler," according to Lozzi, he was a keeper of Hollywood history where he arrange celebrity appearances at Hollywood tributes, award shows and other celebrations such as, Cinecon event for Shirley Jones and Pat Bone.

 "Marvin Paige was the go-to guy for wrangling iconic celebrities to be involved with major events - either the Academy Awards, Oscar parties, Turner Classic Movies with Robert Osborne - it's who you called," Lozzi claims.
